SEC Foundation

Here at the Sweetwater Events Complex, we’re proud to have our very own 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to facility capital projects. Every donation helps us improve and grow our spaces—making our grounds more rentable, more attractive to outside renters, and more impactful for the community.

✨ When you give locally, you’re helping create opportunities for bigger and better events right here in Sweetwater County. Together, we can continue to make our home an even better place to live, work, and play.

Current Project

Grain Bin Gazebo

The Sweetwater Events Complex Foundation is excited to announce our newest fundraising project—a Grain Bin Gazebo to be placed on the large midway lawn.

This unique structure will pay homage to Sweetwater County’s proud agricultural roots while transforming an open, unused lawn into a welcoming gathering space for our community, guests, and out-of-town event rentals.

🌾 Why a Grain Bin Gazebo?

  • A nod to our agricultural heritage, reimagined as a functional and beautiful event space.
  • Provides shade, comfort, and character on the midway lawn.
  • Creates a central hub for people to gather, connect, and celebrate.

🎉 Event Possibilities
The Grain Bin Gazebo will serve as a flexible venue for:

  • Wedding ceremonies and receptions
  • Family reunions and picnics
  • Fair and festival seating areas
  • Outdoor concerts and performances
  • Farmers markets and vendor spaces
  • Everyday community use as a shaded rest stop

Impact
By converting blank lawn space into an attractive, functional centerpiece, the Grain Bin Gazebo will:

  • Increase the rentability of the Complex grounds.
  • Enhance the experience for visitors and event organizers alike.
  • Add long-term value to the Complex, ensuring it remains a vibrant hub for Sweetwater County.

Your support helps us bring this vision to life—building not only a gazebo, but a legacy space that honors our past and invests in our future.

Spicer Pavilion

Concept Background:

With almost 400 acres, the Sweetwater Events Complex hosts over 800 events per year and caters to both Wyoming residents and tourists. We host events with as many as 10,000 people per day and try to showcase the best of what Wyoming has to offer including camping, fishing, and wide-open spaces. We have a large array of outdoor recreational activities including motocross, bmx, stock cars, festivals, horse events and more. Daily visitors enjoy the facility by walking, biking, and horseback riding. Additionally, we have over 1,200 full-service campsites and host visitors from around the country.

In recent years, we saw an increased demand for outdoor facilities to host weddings, graduation parties, family photo location, company picnics and the like. The project is located on the Events Complex property with access to a commercial kitchen, restroom facilities, parking lots and support buildings. The pavilion includes both covered and uncovered areas for events as well as gas fire pits, grills, and hard surfaced walkways for ADA compliance.

Construction began with dirt work and grading in the Spring of 2022. The timber structure was delivered in June and assembled by Western Timberline in July 2022. Work continued through the winter months and construction was completed in June 2023 for the first event rentals.

Funding:

A local organization, The Spicer Foundation made a Million Dollar donation to fund our Outdoor Pavilion Project including infrastructure, structure, landscaping, hard surfacing, signage, etc. Other than the timber structure, concrete and rock walls, work was performed using our Maintenance crew with funding from our normal operations budget.
