1st Place - $100.00, Trophy & Rosette..........2nd Place – $60.00 & Rosette..........3rd Place – $40.00 & Rosette

Interpret the fair theme, “Country, Rock & Livestock” in whatever way you see fit. This contest will be similar to the Food Network Challenges on the Food Network, however, cakes will NOT be made on site. Pinterest Fails & Successes Contest, Saturday & Sunday in the Exhibit Hall

We’ve all had them. You try to replicate an awesome DIY project from Pinterest and it either succeeds or fails spectacularly. This year you can enter both your Pinterest/DIY Successes and Fails!

Just submit a picture with the directions for the craft/project and you'll be judged at how well you 'failed' or succeeded with the project.

Scarecrow Contest, Saturday & Sunday in the Exhibit Hall

Build a scarecrow and proudly display it during the Fair! Scarecrow's will be judged on originality, detail and the use of the fair theme - "Country, Rock & Livestock." Any age is welcome to participate and each participant will win a ribbon and a cash prize. Blue Ribbon & $10.00 or Red Ribbon and $5.00 or White Ribbon and $3.00. Scarecrow's must be brought to the Sweetwater Events Complex during open entry times.

Leadline, Sunday at 9:00 am in the Indoor Arena

Leadline class is a parade of tiny tots being led around on horses and ponies. Some of these little riders will be quite familiar with horses and some just beginners. Everyone will win a fair coloring book and crayons and the winners will be awarded trophies and ribbons. Riders must be under 6 years old and the horse must be lead by a responsible adult, 18 or over. Entries are accepted online anytime before Saturday, July 30th at noon.

Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply sponsors the annual Fair Scavenger Hunt. Pick up the scavenger hunt list from the Exhibit Hall Information Booth and then explore everything the fair has to offer! Participants will each take home a small prize and be entered for a chance to win some amazing prizes.

Diaper Derby, Wednesday at 11:30 am on the Exhibit Hall Contest Stage

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! It's almost time for the annual Wyoming's Big Show Diaper Derby. Babies & toddlers will enter in one of two divisions, crawlers and walkers, and race in “heats” to qualify for the championship. These little athletes will race across the stage from one family member to another, driven by the spirit of competition and the promise of a beloved pacifier or stuffed animal at the finish line. Every participant will win a prize and it's always a crowd favorite. Entries are accepted starting at 11:30 a.m. at the competition stage.

Smith's Kid's Make An Edible Bug, Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. on the Exhibit Hall Stage

Sponsored by Smith's - Bug should be created with foods such as fruits, vegetables, cookies, candy, etc. Bring your edible bug displayed on a paper plate or covered cardboard. Entries will be judged on overall appearance and creativity. Entries will be accepted beginning at 4:30 pm in the exhibit hall. Winner will receive medals, ribbons and cash premiums. And of course bragging rights for the Best Edible Bug!

Sponsored by Smith's - We're celebrating the most delicious and most award-worthy cookies at the fair. Create and enter your own unique cookie recipe and bring it to the fair on Wednesday, August 3 at 6:30 pm to enter. Any style, size or shape is welcome. The contest will be judged by our famous fair board members and you'll earn bragging rights for an entire year for the "Best Cookie in Sweetwater County." Prizes go to the top winners.

Parent-Child Look A Like Contest, Thursday at 11:30 am on the Exhibit Hall Contest Stage

Does your son look just like his dad? Does your daughter look just like her mom? Show us for your chance to win this annual fair contest. It's simple to enter just show up at the exhibit hall stage at 11:30 am the day of the contest. The contest will be judged on overall appearance so feel free to get creative; matching outfits and shows, matching hair colors & styles, matching tattoos, etc.

A fun and easy craft for kids! Kids three and older can join us in the exhibit hall to create an adorable Farm Animal Nose on a Stick. Complete the craft and hold it in front of your nose to imitate a farm animal! We'll supply everything we just need willing participants to come and have a little free fun! And parents, there's no worry about a mess because this project is done using craft sticks and self adhesive felt pieces.

Sponsored by Smith's - Time to pull out the rolling pin and your best pie recipe! The Sweetwater County Board of Commissioners will spend the evening at the county fair and a highlight of their events will be judging the Commissioner's Pie Contest. Commissioners will judge local pie entries based on their taste and appearance. Winners will receive awards and bragging rights for the "Best Pie in Sweetwater County." It's simple, just bring your entry to the exhibit hall stage a half an hour before the contest.

Sponsored by Smith's - All kids are welcome to participate in the Annual Kid’s Cupcake Competition. Bake & decorate your cupcakes at home and bring them to the fair. The cupcakes will be judged by Festival patrons and the winners will receive great prizes!

Sponsored by Smith's - Think you have the best cake around? Prove it! Enter the annual Mayor's Cake Contest during the Sweetwater County Fair. The Mayors of Rock Springs, Green River, Bairoil, Wamsutter and Granger will be invited to judge the event and certainly have discerning taste. Any shape and any flavor is welcome but the competition is stiff so make sure and bring your best. Entries will be accepted starting at 6:30 the day of the contest.

Bocce ball, also called bocci, is a relaxed but strategic game with an ancient lineage. It gained massive popularity with the influx of Italian immigrants at the turn of the 20th century and has been a popular game with the Italians families in Sweetwater County. It's a calming, competitive way to spend a few hours outdoors in the pleasant company of friends. Join us for a game of Bocci during the county fair. Entries will take place half an hour before the scheduled start time.

‘Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades’ is a good motto for the Sweetwater County Fair Horseshoe Tournament. The competition is nothing but good fun and a way to spend the day with friends enjoying a little friendly competition. Get a team together or bring a large group to play, we have plenty of room and would love to have you join us!

Rotary Kid's Dog Show, Saturday at 11:00 am on the Midway Tent Stage

Hey, kids! Do you think your dog is the best looking pooch on the block? Join Rock Springs Rotary for this fun activity hosted by Lanky the Clown. Kids ages 4-14 are invited to bring their pup to compete for prizes in sixteen crazy categories. Categories include Most Spots, Longest Tail, Shortest Legs, Best Jumper and many more! Enter the day of the show beginning at 10:30 a.m. This is all about dogs and their kids having fun!
